Daisy Chain Necklace or Bracelet Pattern

>

This is my variation of the Daisy Chain stitch. It is not an original pattern, but it is my version of the pattern. If you do a web search for Daisy Chain you will find many different versions of the same stitch. The pattern can be used several ways, by adding a variety of beads; you can get a different look. You can make bracelets or necklaces. Or as you can see in my sample, I have made an eyeglass holder.

A = 11/0 seed bead, main color
B = 11/0 seed bead, 2nd color

Start by waxing and stretching your thread, use Nymo D or C-Lon & a #11 or #12 beading needle. Tie in a "stopper" bead, leaving about an 8" tail and begin at step #1.

1.
Pick up 5A, clasp, 3A, go with thread forward through all 8 A beads again and then through the 1st A bead just added one more time.

2.
Pick up 1B, 3A, go with thread down through the 1st and 2nd A beads, step #1.

3.
Pick up 3A, go with thread up through the 1st A bead, step #2. 4. Pick up 1B, 2A, 1B, go with thread up through the 3rd A bead, step #3, and the 1st A bead, step #2.

4. Pick up 1B, 2A, 1B, go with thread up through the 3rd A bead, step #3, and the 1st A bead, step #2.

5.
a) Pick up 1B, 3A, go with thread down through the 2 A beads, step #4.
b) Pick up 3A, go with thread up through the 1st A bead, this step at (a).

6. That’s it, continue Daisy Chain by repeating steps #2, #3 & #4 until you reach the length that you want. Add clasp on the other end in the same manner as was done in step #1.

I use the version with 6 petals in the daisy and 3-5 bead long "stems" between flowers, often with 3 bead "leaves". They are so easy to make and look beautiful stacked, I made countless of these for kids.

Dear Sandra, this is really beautiful. I am a beginner and would like to try this project for Christmas. Could you please tell me what kind of bead you use in the blue chain? Thanks! I really appreciate your pattern.

Sandra, I like the design but I don't know what type thread you are using.
