Makeda Bracelet Pattern

 

Bead Store
A = Miyuki 11° SEED bead, 100* beads
C = 4 mm crystals, 9* beads
W = Wibeduo 8 x 8 mm beads, 5* beads
Nymo D, C-Lon Thread or Fireline (4 or 6 pound), #11 or #12 beading needle
*Beads counts are per repeat (Unit), repeats for this bracelet are about 1-1/2 inches.
 

Start by waxing and stretching your thread. Tie in a “stopper” bead, leaving about a 8-10” tail and begin at step #1.

1. Pick up 1A, 1C, 4A, 1W, 3A, go with thread forward through all the beads just added in this step.

2. Pick up 12A, 1C, go with thread up through the right side hole in the W bead added in the last step.

3. Pick up 1C, 12A, go with thread left to right through the 2nd, 3rd and 4th A beads (of the 4A), step #1. Continue with working thread by following the blue dotted line in illustration around through the beads, coming out with thread up through the 1st A bead just added in this step.

4. Pick up 3A, go with thread down through the 3rd, 2nd and 1st A beads and the C bead, step #3 or the 10th, 11th, and 12th A beads, step #18a, the right side hole of the W bead step # 3 or #17, the 1 C and 12th A bead, step #2 or the 1 C and 1st A bead, step #18b. 
 
5. Pick up 3A, go with thread up through the 10th, 11th and 12th A beads and the 1 C bead, step #2 or the 3rd, 2nd and 1st A beads and 1 C, step #18b, the right side hole of the W bead, step #3 or #17, the C bead and the 1st A bead, step #3, and the 1st and 2nd A beads, step #4, or the 1 C and 12th A, step #18a, and the 1st and 2nd A beads, step #4 repeat. 

6. Pick up 1A, 1W, 5A, go with thread right to left through the top hole of the W bead just added in this step.

7. Pick up 4A, go with thread left to right through the 1st A bead, the bottom hole of the W bead and the next A bead, step #6.

8. Pick up 3A, 1C, 1W, 1C, 4A, 1W, 5A, go with thread left to right through the bottom hole of the last W bead just added in this step.

9. Pick up 4A, go with thread right to left through the 4th A bead (of the 4A), the top hole of the last W bead and the 1st A bead (of the 5A), step #8, and up through the 2nd A bead, step #5.

10. Pick up 1A, 1C, 1W, 1C, 1A, go with thread up and left to right through the 2nd A bead, step #4, the 1st A bead, the bottom hole of the W bead and the next A bead, step #6, and the 1st A bead, step #8.

11. a) Pick up 1A, 1C, go with thread down through the right side hole of the W bead, step #10.
b) Pick up 1C, 1A, go with thread down through the 3rd A bead (of the 4A), step #8.
  12. Pick up 3A, go with thread up through the 1st A bead (of the 4A), the 2nd C bead, the left side hole of the W bead, the 1st C bead and the 3rd A bead, step #8.

13. Pick up 3A, go with thread down through the 1st, 2nd and 3rd A beads, the 1st C bead, the left side hole in the W bead, the 2nd C bead and the 1st A bead (of the 4A), step #8, and the 3rd and 2nd A beads, step #12.

14. Pick up 12A, go with thread up through the right side hole of the W bead, step #8.

15. Pick up 4A, 1C, 1A, go with thread right to left through the 10th, 11th and 12th A beads, step #14, up through the W bead, step #8, and forward through the 1st, 2nd and 3rd A beads just added in this step.

16. Pick up 9A, go with thread down through the 2nd and 1st A beads, step #13. Continue with working thread by following the blue dotted line in illustration around through the beads, coming out with thread down through the C bead, step #15.
First Unit complete.
17. Starting next Unit.
Pick up 4A, 1W, 4A, go with thread down through the C bead, step #15, forward through the 4 A beads, 1 W bead and the next 3 A beads just added in this step.
18. a) Pick up 12A, 1C, go with thread down through the right side hole of the W bead, step #17.
b) Pick up 1C, 14A, go with thread down through the 9th and 8th A beads, step #14 in the previous Unit.
19. a) Pick up 2A, go with thread up through the 11th, 12th, 13th and 14th A beads, step #18b, the last A bead, the C bead and the 4th A bead, step #15 in the previous Unit.
b) Pick up 2A, go with thread up through the 1st and 2nd A beads, step #18a.
c) Pick up 2A, go with thread down through the 2nd and 1st A beads, step #16 in the previous Unit. Continue with working thread by following the green dotted line in illustration around through the beads, coming out with thread up through the C bead and the 12th A bead, step #18a.

20. Finish Unit by following steps #4 through step #16.









21. Continue by repeating steps #17 through #20 until the bracelet is the length that you would like.
To add clasp, pick up 4A, clasp, 4A, go with thread down through 1A, 1C, 1A beads in bracelet center. Continue with thread around through the clasp beads several times for strength. Weave the working thread into the bracelet and end. Repeat the clasp directions in the same manner at the other end of bracelet after removing the stopper bead.
