Bead Store
A = Preciosa seed beads “rocailles” 11°, 40* beads
R = Arrow beads 5 x 8, 6 arrow beads*
C = 2 mm Fire-Polished crystals, #15119001, 18* beads
*Beads counts are per repeat (Unit), each Unit is about 1-1/4 inches.

Nymo D, C-Lon Thread or Fireline (4 or 6 pound), #11 or #12 beading needle

Start by waxing and stretching your thread, use Nymo D or C-Lon & a #11 or #12 beading needle. I used Fireline 6lb. crystal.  Tie in a "stopper" bead, leaving about an 8" tail and begin at step #1.

1. Pick up 1C, 3A, 2C, 2A, go with thread forward through the 1st C, 3 A and 2 C beads just added in this step.

2. Pick up 4A, 1R, 1A, 1R, 1A, 1R, 1A, 1R, 1A, 1R, 1A, 1R, go with thread forward through the 4th A bead and then up through the 3rd, 2nd and 1st A beads (of the 4A) just added in this step.

3. Pick up 1C, go with thread forward through the top hole of the 1st R bead, step #2.

4. Pick up 2C, 3A, go with thread forward through the A bead in step #2, as shown, and up through the 3 A beads just added in this step.

5. Pick up 1C, go with thread forward through the next R bead in step #2.

6. a) Pick up 2C, 3A, go with thread forward through the A bead in step #2, as shown, and up through the 3 A beads just added in this step.

b) Pick up 1C, go with thread forward through the next R bead in step #2.

7. a) Pick up 2C, 3A, go with thread forward through the A bead in step #2, as shown, and up through the 3 A beads just added in this step.
b) Pick up 1C, go with thread forward through the next R bead in step #2.
c) Pick up 2C, 3A, go with thread forward through the A bead in step #2, as shown, and up through the 3 A beads just added in this step.
d) Pick up 1C, go with thread forward through the next R bead in step #2.

8. a) Pick up 2C, 3A, go with thread forward through the A bead in step #2, as shown, and up through the 3 A beads just added in this step.
b) Pick up 1C, go with thread down through the last R bead in step #2 and the 2 C beads, step #1 or step #9.
Continue with working thread by following the blue dotted line in illustration through your bracelet, coming out with thread down through the 1 C bead, step #6b. Please note: you will go through 4 A beads in center circle.

9. Pick up 3A, 2C, go with thread down through the 3rd R bead in step #2, the 1 C bead, step #6b, and forward through all the beads just added in this step.

10. Pick up 4A, 1R, 1A, 1R, 1A, 1R, 1A, 1R, 1A, 1R, 1A, 1R, go with thread forward through the 4th A bead and then up through the 3rd, 2nd and 1st A beads (of the 4A) just added in this step.

11. a) Pick up 1C, go with thread up through the last R bead, step #10.
b) Pick up 2C, 3A, go with thread through the A bead in step #10, as shown, and up through the 3 A beads just added in this step.
c) Pick up 1C, go with thread through the next R bead in step #10.

12. a) Pick up 2C, 3A, go with thread through the A bead in step #10, as shown, and up through the 3 A beads just added in this step.
b) Pick up 1C, go with thread through the next R bead in step #10.
c) Pick up 2C, 3A, go with thread through the A bead in step #10, as shown, and up through the 3 A beads just added in this step.
d) Pick up 1C, go with thread through the next R bead in step #10.
e) Pick up 2C, 3A, go with thread through the A bead in step #10, as shown, and up through the 3 A beads just added in this step.
f) Pick up 1C, go with thread through the next R bead in step #10.

13. a) Pick up 2C, 3A, go with thread through the A bead in step #10, as shown, and up through the 3 A beads just added in this step.
b) Pick up 1C, go with thread up through the 1st R bead in step #10 and the 2 C beads, step #9.
Continue with working thread by following the blue dotted line in illustration through your bracelet, coming out with thread up through the 1 C bead, step #12b. Please note: you will go through 4 A beads in center circle.

14. Pick up 3A, 2C, go with thread up through the 4th R bead in step #10, the 1 C bead, step
#12b, and forward through all the beads just added in this step.

15. Continue by repeating steps #2 through #14 until the bracelet is the length that you would like.
Add clasps of your choice on both ends Continue with thread around through the clasp beads several times for strength. Weave the working thread into the bracelet and end.

Beaded Snowflake #31 Ornament Pattern

Bead Store - 1” Snowflake

A = Miyuki 11/0 SEED bead, white, 97 beads

B = Miyuki 10/0 Triangle bead, white, 12 beads

C = 3mm Crystal, 4 crystals

Nymo D Thread or Fireline (4 or 6 pound)

#11 or #12 beading needle

Start by waxing and stretching your thread. Use Fireline*, Nymo D or C-Lon and an #11 or #12 beading needle. Tie in a “stopper” bead, leaving about a 8-10” tail and begin at R1. *I have recently started using Fireline® fishing line, too. I like 4lb and 6lb Crystal for bead weaving.

Round 1

Pick up 1B, 2A, 1B, 2A, 1B, 2A, 1B, 2A, 1B, 2A, 1B, 2A, make a circle and go with thread through the 1st B bead just added.

 

Round 2

a) Pick up 1C, 1A, 1A, go with thread down through the 4th B bead added in R1, right to left through the 3 beads just added in this step, up then forward through the 1st B, 2 A, 1 B and 1st A beads added in R1 as shown.

b) Pick up 1C, go with thread left to right through the 1 A bead added in this Round at (a), up through the 1 C bead just added in this step, forward through 1 A, 1 B, 2 A, 1 B, 2 A, 1 B, 1st A beads in Round 1 as shown.

c) Pick up 1C, go with thread right to left through the 1 A bead added in this Round at (a), down through the 1 C bead just added in this step, and forward through 1 A, 1 B, 2 A and the 1st B beads added in Round 1 as shown.

 

Round 3

a) Pick up 2A, 1B, 2A, go with thread forward through the next 1 B bead forward added in Round 1.

b) Repeat (a) around 5 more times.

c) Continue with working thread up through the 1st and 2nd A beads in the first repeat of (a) this Round.

 

Round 4

a) Pick up 6A, go with thread down through the 3rd A bead just added in this step.

b) Pick up 2A, go with thread down through the 1st A bead (of the second set of 2A), R3a.

c) Pick up 2A, go with thread up through the 2nd A bead (of the first set of 2A), next repeat forward, R3a.

c) Repeat (a, b, c) around 5 more times.

d) Weave the working thread into the snowflake and end.

Snowflake Tips

Bead colors for rounds R = Round

Each Round begins at the red dot in drawing

The snowflakes are done in Rounds.

Making hangers for your snowflake

Make it with beads, make a loop with as many beads as you would like, or use a piece of fishing line, making it invisible with mono-filament or a piece of pretty ribbon. Add ribbon after your snowflake is stiffened. 

Finishing

After the snowflake is complete, you can stiffen it with SC Johnson Pledge Future shine. It is a great stiffener; it stays clear even on the crystals. Test it first if you use seed beads with dyed colors to make sure the floor finish doesn’t remove the colors.

Pour enough of the Future® Shine into a small container that is wide enough for the ornament. Float the ornament into the Future® Shine and push it around a bit with your finger. (After I am done, I use a funnel and pour the extra back into the bottle)

Take the ornament out and blot both sides with a paper towel.

Put the ornament on a piece of wax paper, shape and flatten it and let it remain on the wax paper to dry. (If you use plastic wrap, the beads can stick a bit to the wrap, so it needs to be moved around a bit to prevent this from happening.) If your ornament needs a little extra flattening, use two pieces of wax paper and sandwich your ornament in between; put a book on top of the wax paper for about an hour. Take the book and the top piece of wax paper off the ornament and let dry overnight on the bottom piece of wax paper.

b) Pick up 1C, go with thread right to left through the bottom holes of the 2nd R, 1st D and 1st R beads, step #2.

c) Pick up 1A, go with thread up through the 4th, 5th, and 6th A beads, step #1 (first time), or the 1st, 2nd and 3rd A beads, step #7 (every time after) and the 1st A bead, step #2.

4. Pick up 7A, 1C, 1A, go with thread through the 2nd A bead, step #2, and up through the last A bead and the C bead just added in this step.

5. Pick up 7A, 1C, 1A, go with thread through the 3rd A bead, step #2, and up through the last A bead and the C bead just added in this step.

3. a) Pick up 2A, go with thread left to right through the top hole of the next D bead, step #2.
b) Pick up 4A, go with thread left to right through the next A bead in circle center as shown, and up through the 4th and 3rd A beads just added in this step.

4. a) Pick up 2A, go with thread left to right through the top hole of the next D bead, step #2.
b) Pick up 1A, 1R, 4A, go with thread down through the other hole in the R bead just added in this step.

12. Pick up 4A, go with thread down through the 3rd and 4th A beads, step #4b, and forward through the 1st, 2nd and 3rd A beads just added in this step..

 

13. Repeat steps #2 through #7.

14. Pick up 1A, 1R, 5A, go with thread down through the 1st and 2nd A beads (of the 4A), step #5a.

15. a) Pick up 1A, go with thread up through the 3rd and 4th A beads and left to right through the empty hole in the R bead, step #14,.
b) Pick up 1A, go with thread left to right through the top hole of the last D bead, step #2.
c) Pick up 1A, go with thread up through the left hole in the R bead, step #2, forward through 2 A beads, step #12, as shown, the 2 A beads, down through the right side hole in the R bead and the next 1 A, D bead and 1st and 2nd A beads (of the 5A) step #2 and up through the 2 A beads, step #3a.

 

16. Repeat steps #10 and #11 in the same manner. 

17. Continue by repeating steps #12 through #16 until the bracelet is the length that you would like.

Add clasps of your choice on both ends Continue with thread around through the clasp beads several times for strength. Weave the working thread into the bracelet and end.
