The Holiday Drop Necklace pattern
is a very fast and easy necklace to make for the holidays. I bought the
little miniature lights from Michael's several years ago. If you cannot find
them though, you can use any little drop things, even crystals if you want.
Look at the picture below for some other miniature ornaments you can use. You
can add as many or as few drop as you would like in your necklace.

Beads Used:
11˚ Seed beads, 3 colors A = Green
B = Gold
C = Red

Start by waxing and stretching your thread, use Nymo D or C-Lon & a #11 or #12 beading needle. I used Fireline 6lb. crystal. Tie in a "stopper" bead, leaving about an 8" tail and begin at step #1. |
1. Pick up 11A, go with thread up
through the 1st A bead just added.
2. Pick up 6A, go with thread down through the 9th A bead, step #1. |
3. Pick up 7A, go with thread up through the 4th A bead added in the last step.
4. Pick up 6A, go with thread down through the 5th A bead added in the last step.
5. Pick up 7A, go with thread up through the 4th A bead added in the last step.
6. Pick up 2A, (1C, 6A*, 3C, 1B), 3A, drop, 3A, go with thread up through the beads between ().
*I added 6 A beads at this step but you can add any amount of the A beads as you would like. My necklace has 9 strings of fringe drops. My side ones have 6 A beads and the center drop has 10 A beads, increasing your number as A beads as you increase towards the center. |
7. Pick up 5A, go with thread up through the 4th A bead as shown.
7. Continue your necklace by completing both sides of your necklace. Repeat steps #4 and #5 or #6 and #7 until you reach the length that you want your necklace to be. And any kind of closure you would like.
