Blue Melody Necklace Pattern

Bead Store

A = Miyuki 11° SEED bead, 32*

B = Miyuki 11° DELICA bead, 8*

C = Glass - 4 mm Druks beads, 5*

*Bead Counts are per repeat, repeat is approximately 3/4"

Nymo D Thread or Fireline (4 or 6 pound)
#11 or #12 beading needle

Start by waxing and stretching your thread. Tie in a “stopper” bead, leaving about a 8-10” tail and begin at step #1.

1. Pick up 1B, 3A, 1B, 2A, 1B, 2A, 1B, 3A, go with thread up through the 1st B bead just added.

2. Pick up 2A, 1C, 2A, go with thread down through the 1st B bead, step #1. Continue with working thread around through all the beads added in step #1, coming out with thread up through the 1st B bead, step #1, and then up through the 1st and 2nd A beads added in this step.

3. a) Pick up 1B, 2A, 2C, go with thread down through the 3rd B and 2 A beads, step #1 (first time) or the 2nd B bead, and 2 A beads, step #5b (every time after).

b) Pick up 4A, 1B, 1C, 1B, 6A, 1B, 1C, go with thread up through the 1st C bead added in this step at (a).


 

4. a) Pick up 3A, go with thread down through the 2 A and 2 C beads, step #3a, and the 3rd B bead, step #1 (first time) or the 2nd B bead, step #5b (every time after).

b) Pick up 5A, go with thread up through the 3rd B and 2nd C beads, step #3b, the 1st C bead, step #3a, and the 1st and 2nd A beads added in this step at (a).

5. a) Pick up 1B, 2A, 1B, 3A, go with thread down through the 3rd C bead and the 6th and 5th A beads, step #3b.

b) Pick up 1B, 2A, 1B, 3A, go with thread up through the 2nd B bead added in this step at (a).



6. Pick up 2A, 1C, go with thread down through the 1st and 2nd A beads, step #5a, and up through the 2 A beads just added in this step.

7. Continue by repeating steps #3 through #6 until the necklace is the length that you would like.

8. To add clasp, pick up 1B, 2A, clasp, 2A, 1B, go with thread up through 1 A, 1 B and 2 A beads in necklace as shown. Continue with thread around through the clasp beads several times for strength. Weave the working thread into the necklace and end. Repeat the clasp directions in the same manner at the other end of necklace after removing the stopper bead.
