Flowers in the Grass Necklace Pattern


Its spring and we sure need some flowers in our grass. Now you can wear them as a necklace.

Bead Store
Necklace 17 in. (43cm)
A = Miyuki 11° SEED bead, 20g green
B = Miyuki 11° SEED bead, 5g gold
C = Miyuki 11° SEED bead, 7g purple
D = Miyuki 11° SEED bead, 5g light purple
E = 3mm Czech fire-polished crystals, 24
Nymo D Thread or Fireline (4 or 6 pound) and #11 or #12 beading needle

Start by waxing and stretching your thread. Tie in a stopper bead, leaving about a 8-10 inch tail and begin at step #1.
 
1. Pick up 11A (9A, every time after), 10B, make a circle and go with thread forward through the 1st B bead just added in this step (circle of 10 made).

 
2. Pick up 1E, go with thread left to right through the 6th B bead, step #1, down through the E bead just added and left to right through the 1st B bead, step #1.

 
3. Pick up 7C, go with thread through the 3rd B bead, step #1.

     
4. a) Pick up 7C, go with thread through the 5th B bead, step #1.
b) Pick up 7C, go with thread through the 7th B bead, step #1

 
5. a) Pick up 7C, go with thread through the 9th B bead, step #1.
b) Pick up 7C, go with thread through the 1st B bead, step #1

 
6. a) Pick up 3D, go with thread forward through the 3rd, 4th and 5th C beads, step #3.
b) Pick up 3D, go with thread through the 3rd B bead, step #1.
 
7. a) Pick up 3D, go with thread forward through the 3rd, 4th and 5th C beads, step #4a.
b) Pick up 3D, go with thread through the 5th B bead, step #1.
c) Pick up 3D, go with thread forward through the 3rd, 4th and 5th C beads, step #4b.
d) Pick up 3D, go with thread through the 7th B bead, step #1.
8. a) Pick up 3D, go with thread forward through the 3 center C beads, as shown, step #5a.
b) Pick up 3D, go with thread through the 9th B bead, step #1.
c) Pick up 3D, go with thread forward through the 3rd, 4th and 5th C beads, step #5b.
d) Pick up 3D, go with thread left to right through the 1st C bead and down through the 11th through 7th B bead (First time) or the 9th through 5th A bead (Every time after), step #1.
 
9. Pick up 12A, go with thread down through the bead the thread is exiting in stem and the 1st A bead just added in this step.

10. Pick up 3A, go with thread left to right through the 8th and 7th A beads, step #9.

 
11. a) Pick up 1A, go with thread right to left through the 6th and 5th A beads, step #9.
b) Pick up 1A, go with right to left through the 2nd A bead, step #10.
c) Pick up 1A, go with thread right to left through the 12th A beads, step #9, and down through the 7 A beads in stem as shown.

12. Pick up 2A, go with thread down through the 2 bottom beads in stem and up through the 2 A beads just added in this step.

13. Pick up 2A, go with thread up through the 2 A beads, step #12.

14. Pick up 1A, go with thread down through the 2 A beads, step #13.

15. a) Pick up 2A, go with thread down through the 2 A beads, step #13, and up through the 2 A beads just added in this step.
b) Pick up 2A, go with thread up through the 2 A beads added in this step at (a).
c) Pick up 1A, go with thread down through the 2 A beads added in this step at (b).
d) Pick up 2A, go with thread down through the 2 A beads added at (b) and up through the 2 A beads just added in this step.

16. Pick up 3A, go with thread up through the 2 A beads, step #15d, and down through the first 2 A beads just added in this step..

17. a) Pick up 2A, go with thread down through the 1st and 2nd A beads, step #16, and up through the 2 A beads just added in this step.
b) Pick up 2A, go with thread up through the 2 A beads added at (a).
c) Pick up 1A, go with thread down through the 2 A beads, added at (b).

18. a) Pick up 2A, go with thread down through the 2 A beads, step #16b, and up through the 2 A beads just added in this step.
b) Pick up 2A, go with thread up through the 2 A beads added in this step at (a).
c) Pick up 1A, go with thread down through the 2 A beads added in this step at (b).
d) Pick up 2A, go with thread down through the 2 A beads added at (b) and up through the 2 A beads just added in this step.

19. Repeat step #1 through step #4.

20. a) Pick up 3C, go with thread down through the 4th C bead in the previous flower added in step #4a.
b) Pick up 3C, go with thread down through the 9th B bead, step #1 repeat in the working flower.

21. Repeat steps #5b through #8.

22. Repeat step #9 through step #11c. After adding the beads in step #11c only go with thread down through 1 A bead in stem as shown

23. Pick up 12A, go with thread down through the 1 A bead in stem as shown and forward through the 1st A bead just added in this step.
 
24. Pick up 3A, go with thread right to left through the 8th and 7th A beads, step #23, down through the 1 A bead, step #11a, and left to right through the 6th and 5th A beads, step #23.

25. a) Pick up 1A, go with thread left to right through the 2nd A bead, step #24.
b) Pick up 1A, go with thread left to right through the 12th A bead, step #23 and down through 7 stem beads as shown.

26. Repeat steps #12 through step #21 until necklace is the length you want. Add closures of your choice on the top petals of your flowers.
