Burnish Lace Necklace FREE Pattern

This pretty necklace is made using 4mm Fire-polished crystals, 11° seed beads and the new 2 Hole Chexx Squarelets. It curves beautifully around the neck, but would also make a pretty bracelet and you can make it in half the time. What Bead FX says about this new bead is "Another new shape to add to your bead weaving. These are fairly thick for their size, and have two holes on a 3 mm center. Technically - these are ALSO a two hole square tile , but in this case, the holes run vertically from front to back, from one large face of the bead to the other." So if you want to add a bit of dimension to your necklace, you might want to try these new beads. You could also make this necklace using the new half Tila beads if you have some of those on hand.

A = Miyuki #593, 11° SEED bead
B = Toho #245, 11° SEED bead
C = 4mm Fire-polished crystals, Bronze
D = 2 Hole Chexx Squarelets, Antique Bronze

Start by waxing and stretching your thread, use Nymo D or C-Lon & a #11 or #12 beading needle. I used Fireline 6lb. crystal.  Tie in a "stopper" bead, leaving about an 8" tail and begin at step #1.

1. Pick up 1D, 1B, 4A, 1C, 3A, go with thread up through the 1 C bead just added.

2. Pick up 4A, 1B, go with thread up through the right side hole of the D bead added in the last step.

3. a) Pick up 5B, go with thread down through the left side hole of the D bead, and then continue down the beads on the left side including the C bead as shown, coming out with thread down through the 1st A bead (of the 3A), step #1.
b) Pick up 5B, go with thread up through the 3rd A bead (of the 3A), step #1, and then continue up through the right side beads including the C bead as shown, coming out with thread up through the 1st B bead added in this step at (a).

4. Pick up 5A, go with thread down through the 3rd A bead, step #2(first time) or step #7b (every time after).

5. Pick up 1B, 1C, 1B, 3A, go with thread up through the 3rd and 2nd A beads, step #4.

6. Pick up 1A, 1B, 1D, 1B, 1A, go with thread down through the 1st A bead, step #5.

7. a) Pick up 2A, 1C, 3A, go with thread up thorough the 1 C bead just added.
b) Pick up 4A, 1B, go with thread up through the right side hole of the D bead, step #6.

8. a) Pick up 4B, go with thread down through the 1st B bead, step #6, the left side hole of the D bead, and then continue down the beads on the left side including the C bead as shown, coming out with thread down through the 1st A bead (of the 3A), step #7a.
b) Pick up 5B, go with thread up through the 3rd A bead (of the 3A), step #7a, and then continue up through the right side beads including the C bead as shown, coming out with thread up through the 1st B bead added in this step at (a).

9. Continue necklace by repeating steps #4 through #8 until it fits.

10.
To add clasp, pick up 3A, clasp, 3A, go with thread up through 1B, 1D and 1B beads in necklace. Continue with thread around through the clasp beads several times for strength. Weave the working thread into the necklace and end. Repeat the clasp directions in the same manner at the other end of necklace after removing the stopper bead.
