Easy Christmas Necklace Pattern

The Easy Christmas Necklace pattern works up very fast. So grab a handful of beads and you can make a fast necklace to wear yourself or make a bunch for your friend. If you want to make a bracelet instead, at step #5, pick up 7A, so you have an equal number of beads on the top and the bottom to eliminate the curve.

A = Matsuno 11/0 SL/SH Amber Rainbow

B = Miyuki 11/0 seed #11, #16 and/or #02

C = 4mm fire-polished crystal gold

Start by waxing and stretching your thread, use Nymo D or C-Lon & a #11 or #12 beading needle. Tie in a "stop-per" bead, leaving about an 8" tail and begin at step #1.

	1. Pick up 16A, make a circle and go forward with thread through the 1st through 7th beads.
	2.  Pick up 1B, 1C, 1B, go with thread, from left to right, through the 15th, 14th and 13th A beads added in step #1 (or through the 12th, 11th and 10th A beads added in step #7).
	3.  a) Pick up 1B, go with thread up through the C bead added in the last step. b) Pick up 1B, go with thread forward through the 5th through13th A beads added in step #1 (or through the 2nd through 10th A beads added in step #7).
	4.  Pick up 3A, go with thread forward through the 15th, 16th and 1st through 11th A beads added in step #1 (or through the 12th A bead, step #7, the 6th A bead, step #6, the 3rd, 4th and 5th A beads, step #5, and the 1st through 8th A beads, step #7).
	5.  Pick up 6A, go with thread down through the 9th, 10th and 11th A beads added in step #1 (or through the 6th, 7th and 8th A beads, step #7). Go with thread around through the 6 A beads again and down through the 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th A beads added in step #1 (or down through the 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th A beads added in step #7).
	6.  Pick up 6A, go with thread up through the 3rd, 4th and 5th A beads added in step #5.
	7.  Pick up 12A, go with thread up through the 6th A bead added in step #6 and the 3rd, 4th and 5th A beads added in step #5. Continue with thread forward through the 1st through 4th A beads just added in this step.
	8. Repeat steps #2, #3 and #4.
	9. Continue necklace by repeating steps #5 through #8 until you reach the length that you want.
	10. To add clasp, pick up 3A, clasp, 3A, go with thread up through the 7th and 6th A beads added in step #7. Continue with thread around through the clasp beads several times, weave in and end thread. Repeat in the same manner on the other end after removing the stopper bead.

Christmas Tree Ornament in Peyote Pattern

This is a pattern for a simple peyote stitch Christmas Tree Ornament pattern. I have also included some very basic peyote instructions. Happy Holidays. When finished add a little gold bow on top to finish it off.
Making Hangers for your Ornament
1. Make it with beads, make a loop with as many beads as you would like,
2. or use a piece of fishing line, making it invisible with mono-filament,
3. or a piece of pretty ribbon. Add ribbon after your snowflake is stiffened.

Finishing
After the ornament is complete, you can stiffen it with SC Johnson Floor Finish (Sc Johnson #11182 27oz Pledge Futureshine). It is a great stiffener, it stays clear even on the crystals. Test it first if you use seed beads with dyed colors to make sure the floor finish doesn’t remove the colors.

Pour enough of the finish into a small container that is wide enough for the ornament. Float the ornament into the Future and push it around a bit with your finger. (After I am done with the floor finish, I use a funnel and pour the extra back into the bottle)

Take the ornament out and blot both sides with a paper towel.

Put the ornament on a piece of wax paper, shape and flatten it and let it remain on the wax paper to dry. (If you use plastic-wrap, the beads can stick a bit to the wrap, so it needs to be moved around a bit to prevent this from happening.) If your ornament needs a little extra flattening, use two pieces of wax paper and sandwich your ornament in between; put a book on top of the wax paper for about an hour. Take the book and the top piece of wax paper off the ornament and let dry overnight on the bottom piece of wax paper.

	Pick up Row 1 and  2
	Row 3 a), add 1 bead and go right to left through the row 2 beads as shown. To do turn and start row 4, continue with working thread up at an angle through the last bead in row 1, last bead in row 2 and the 2nd from last bead in row 3 as shown....
	...Continue Row 3 b), at an angle up through the row 1 and row 2 beads, only going through 2 beads as shown in illustration with the needle)...
	...Continue Row 3 c), at an angle down through the row 1 bead as shown...
	...Continue Row 3 d), at an angle up through the row 3 bead as shown.
	Row 4, add 1 bead between all the raised row 3 beads and go right to left through the row 3 beads as shown.
	ROW 5, This is the way I like to do odd count peyote. Add Row 5 beads adding 1 bead between all the raised beads in Row 4At the end of odd Row 5, with working thread go through side thread of the previous row (hook it around), continue with working thread left to right through the last bead in row just finished.
	Optional, Row 5, add 1 bead between all the raised row 4 beads and go right to left through the row 4 beads as shown.  Do turn and go with working thread in the same manner as you ended and turned in Row 3.
	Decrease 1, At the end of row, with working thread goes around thread on the side of the previous row. (hook it around), Continue with working thread left to right through the last 2 beads in previous row and new row just added.
	Decrease 2, At the end of row, with working thread goes around thread in the previous row. (hook it around), Continue with working thread left to right through the last bead in row just finished.
	Decrease 3. Add 1 bead between all the raised row 4 beads and go right to left through the row 4 beads as shown.  Do turn and go with working thread in the same manner as you ended and turned in Row 3.
	Decrease 4.  Add 1 bead between all the raised row 4 beads and go right to left through the row 4 beads as shown.  Do turn and go with working thread in the same manner as you ended and turned in Row 3.
	To end threads, weave through as shown in illustration. Crossing over the threads lock them in place without knotting. Bring in a new thread with a stopper bead, then weave off the new thread after removing the stopper bead in the same manner that was done with the old thread.
